ChatLesh does not conduct background checks on users. Please read the following before you exchange personal information, and definitely before you meet anyone in person. If something feels wrong, trust that feeling.
1.Online Safety
1.1 Take it slow
You don't have to answer every question, and you don't have to answer quickly. If someone rushes you, treat that as a warning sign — not a compliment.
1.2 Guard your personal information
- Don't share your full name, workplace, home address, daily commute, or children's names or schools.
- Don't share bank details, credit card numbers, government ID numbers, or one-time codes — ever, for any reason.
- Don't reuse the same photos you use on your other social media (reverse image search can link the accounts).
- Turn off location tags in photos before you send them.
1.3 Video call before meeting
Before agreeing to meet in person, do a short video call. It is the simplest way to verify that the person you've been chatting with matches their photos. ChatLesh includes voice and video calls once you've messaged mutually.
2.Scams — How to Spot Them
- Falls in love within a few days.
- Uses very professional photos or claims to be a model, doctor, or engineer working abroad.
- Has an urgent emergency (medical, customs, business) and needs money.
- Cannot video-call — camera is always broken or the light is bad.
- Wants to move to WhatsApp / Telegram / Instagram immediately, before you've had a real conversation.
- Sends you a link to a "cryptocurrency opportunity" or "investment platform".
- Asks for gift cards, wire transfers, or crypto payments of any amount.
Never send money to someone you have not met in person, no matter how genuine they seem, no matter how urgent the request. Romance scammers are professionals; they will spend weeks building trust before the ask.
3.Meeting In Person
- Meet in a public place — a café, restaurant, or busy park. Never their home or your home for the first meeting.
- Tell a friend where you're going, who you're meeting, and when you expect to be back. Share your live location if possible.
- Arrange your own transport. Do not accept being picked up on the first date; you want to be able to leave when you want.
- Stay sober enough to make decisions. Watch your drink.
- Trust your gut. If you feel uncomfortable at any point, it is completely OK to leave. Say you're not feeling well and go.
- Don't feel obligated. You owe nobody anything, even if the evening was pleasant.
4.If You Are in a Region Where Your Identity Is at Risk
If you live in a place where your sexual orientation, gender identity, or religion could put you in danger:
- Use photos that don't show your face until you trust the other person.
- Do not share landmarks, workplaces, or other identifying details.
- Be cautious meeting people you have not video-called; sting-style entrapment does happen.
- Consider using a nickname rather than your legal name.
5.Sexual Health
If sex is part of what you're looking for on ChatLesh:
- Use protection. Consent to sex is not consent to unprotected sex.
- Talk openly about STI status. Get tested regularly.
- Never remove or tamper with a condom without your partner's consent — this is a serious criminal offence in many jurisdictions.
6.Consent
Consent must be enthusiastic, informed, ongoing, and freely given. Silence, "maybe", intoxication, or a previous "yes" are not consent. You can withdraw consent at any time, and so can your partner.
7.Reporting a Bad Experience
If someone has behaved badly toward you on or off the app:
- Block them on ChatLesh (chat header → 3-dot menu → Block).
- Report them using the categorized report tool (chat / profile → 3-dot menu → Report).
